Welcome to the German International School Washington D.C.

Located in Potomac, MD, the German International School has been teaching children from preschool through twelfth grade for almost 60 years.

We pride ourselves on our challenging German curriculum. The academic program has a strong focus on German, foreign languages and a science curriculum taught in state-of-the-art facilities, for grades four through twelve.

The diplomas granted at the end of twelfth grade are the German International Abitur (DIA) and the U.S. High School Diploma. They provide our students access to universities in Europe, in the U.S., and all around the world. Our alumni have been accepted to top universities worldwide.

Beyond the curricula being German, we speak German at the school and live the German culture. Our student body is comprised of families from German-speaking countries who temporarily reside in the area for professional reasons as well as local families with or without a German-speaking parent.

The German International School Washington D.C. stays in touch with its alumni around the globe and is very proud of their achievements.
