Back-to-School Night 2014

The new school year kicked off with our traditional Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. As usual, this event was a chance for new families to meet teachers, administrators and staff, tour the campus and learn more about the different departments within our school. For returning families the afternoon was an opportunity to catch up and chat about their summer vacations.

As part of the program, the Managing Director, Marianne Haegeli gave a presentation regarding the ongoing Energy Efficiency Renovation (EnSan) and Head of School Waldemar Gries introduced the new faculty members and welcomed them to our school community: Isabella Lambauer in the Preschool, Cordula Schmid-Waßmuth and Esther Ramirez in the Elementary School and Alexandra Cheshire, Sabine Jackson and Chris Barker in the Upper School.

During an emotional moment, our Chair of the Board of Directors, Sebastian Molineus, handed a check over $5,797.43 to Kerstin Hopkins, Principal of the German Language School who represented a family of our school community who is suffering from a terrible tragedy. We were able to raise these funds thanks to your generosity at the summer festival and thanks to the Volkswagen Partnership Program,

We thank all volunteers and participants who donated their time and helped making this year’s Back-to-School Night a success!
