Concert by Regensburg Cathedral Choir

On May 2, 2014, we had the honor of welcoming the Regensburg Cathedral Choir to our school. The 34 boys between age 11 and 15, and 22 adolescents between 16 and 18 sung sacred and secular a cappella music, compositions from Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic and modern times as well as madrigals, solo parts and folk songs. Earlier that day, the singers met with our students and shared their musical talents with them in class workshops. While in Washington, the choir members stayed with host families from the German School and had the chance to explore Washington, D.C.’s most famous sights before heading back to Germany. Listen to a short documentary in German about the Cathedral Choir’s visit to Washington D.C. including their performance at the German School online in the ARD-Mediathek.
