German Christmas Market 2015

Dear Members and Friends of the School Community of the German School Washington!
Dear guests and visitors of the German Christmas Market!

It was a true pleasure  to welcome you at our traditional German Christmas Market on a beautiful and sunny winter day. In his speech Mr. Etschenberg as president of our “Friends of the German School” pointed out that it needed many hands to make this event happen. And there is one person I would really like to give a special thank-you to and that is Ms. Tawil. She is the spirit and the engine of this wonderful event. With her extraordinary talents and her dedication she has once again turned the German Christmas Market at our School into a unique event at the end of the year.

Furthermore, it is equally important for me, to say a warm thank-you to the numerous helping hands, who created and crafted all the exceptional gifts which were offered for sale at the Christmas Market. Our school community is very grateful for your work and dedication. With your support and the generous donations we receive from the “Friends” every year, many things are sponsored, which we would not be able to offer our students otherwise.

Also, many thanks to our maintenance department and the staff of our cafeteria as well as to the many volunteers who prepared the Christmas Market. Without you this event would not be thinkable.

It was a special honor that Mr. Bergner from the German Embassy opened our German Christmas Market 2015 last Saturday, December 5, 2015.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

Petra Palenzatis
Head of School
