German School at EU Open House
Every year, the EU member states invite the people of Washington D.C. and its surrounding areas to get a rare view inside their embassies at the EU Open House. Last Saturday, May 10, 2014, thousands of people visited the French Embassy which again hosted all German representatives, including the German School, due to the ongoing renovations at the German Embassy.
Together with Mrs. Colopy, our young and talented Schü-Ex scientists demonstrated interactive experiments and placed special emphasis on our school’s Science program. Thanks to the support of our school mouse, gecko and hamster, our booth was especially popular among young visitors.
In the afternoon, our student choir and the German American Choir performed under the lead of Choir Director Ramus Frederich. Both choirs impressed the audience with a broad repertoire of songs and gave a flawless performance.
Another exciting EU Open House came to an end. We would like to thank all volunteers who helped at the DSW booth, Mrs. and Mr. Colopy and the Schü-Ex students for demonstrating the experiments as well as Mr. Frederich and the two choirs for their performances.
