In Silent Sorrow

Card of Condolences by students of 7a and 7b

Dear Members of our School Community,

Words cannot express the grief we are all experiencing over the horrific events in Paris last Friday. We mourn the tragic loss of lives and injuries, and our deepest sympathies go out to the victims, their families and friends and to our fellow community at the French International School Rochambeau.

On Monday, November 16, 2015, at noon, students, teachers and staff stood together in silence for a moment of solidarity, reflection and respect.

Under the guidance of our Art teacher Mrs. Tscherner, students of grades 7a and 7b have created a card of condolences for the French School, which we will deliver today to our friends in Bethesda. (This card will also be published on our website.) By midday, we will have established a commemoration table with a book of condolences, where students, parents, teachers and staff may sign and express what is in their hearts. By the end of the week, we will send this book to Rochambeau.

Today, our flags are flown have-staff.

In silent sorrow,

(signed) for Juergen Sarpe
