Thank you from the Outreach & Development Department!

On behalf of our Outreach & Development Coordinator, Susanne Rosenbaum, we would like to thank all families, teachers and staff for their support during last school year’s outreach events and fundraising activities.

Thanks to the help of committed volunteers, we were able to increase our school’s visibility in the greater Washington D.C. area by participating in external events such as Potomac Day, Tysons Corner Christmas Market or the EU Open House. We appreciate the time and energy you contributed to representing our school with enthusiasm at these and other functions.

With regard to fundraising, our school community has been tremendously generous in the 2013/14 school year. Given the tragic circumstances following Family Serrano’s car accident, we concentrated our major fundraising efforts on supporting the Serranos. Jointly with the GLC we raised over $20,000. Our sincere appreciation goes to everyone who contributed to this incredible achievement.

In addition, we were able give our students some special treats thanks to your support with other smaller fundraisers. While our preschoolers enjoy playing on their new climb-and-crawl-caterpillar, our student choir now sings in bright yellow shirts and our SES-students build creative structures with their new Magna Tiles. We would also like to thank all Box Tops clippers, Volkswagen drivers, Dr. Schlobohm patients, Amazon shoppers and reward card users for taking part in these programs.

We look forward to new and exciting projects in the coming school year and are excited to let our community spirit shine once again. We count on you and send a heartfelt thank you to all of you for a successful Outreach & Development year!
