Urgent Request by our Head of School

Dear Parents,

I am very much looking forward to the evening of December 9th – the night of the German School Christmas Concert. Students of all grade levels, under the direction of our dedicated faculty members in the Music department, have been practicing diligently to create the festive mood of Christmas on that night.

So that everyone – choirs and audience – can truly enjoy the beautiful music, I would like to ask you to make sure that your children listen quietly and remain in their seats. As a mother, I know that this is not easy for the duration of a two-hour concert, especially when children are surrounded by their friends. Therefore, we are offering a babysitting service this year. Please take advantage of this offer as soon as your youngsters start to get restless.

There is another reason for my request: Unfortunately some churches - including our neighbor Lady of Mercy – are no longer willing to let us rent their facilities, because our youngest audience members have been too loud, too wild, and thereby did not show the appropriate respect for the ecclesiastical surroundings in previous years.

In order for us to provide enough babysitters, please send a short email to  and include the number children (including their ages) in your family that might take advantage of this service.

I would like to thank you in advance for your support and look forward to spending the coming Wednesday evening with you and your family!

Warmest Regards,

Petra Palenzatis, OStD’
Head of School
