The bookstore sells used books for 30% to 90% of the original price, depending on the condition of the book.
How to sell your used books:
Used books can be dropped off at the bookstore for sale throughout the entire school year. We sell books on a commission basis; you are the owner until they are sold.
The bookstore reserves the right to reject books for the following reasons:
- if the book in question is not being used at our school anymore
- if, based on our experience, we consider the book being too damaged to be sold
When we accept a book into commission it will be marked with the seller’s name and contact information and entered into our computer filing system. The sale price of the book is determined by its condition. Should we not be able to sell your book due to a change in required school books we will contact you to find out if you wish us to return the book to you or if you would rather have us discard it.
Once a book is sold we will contact you via the email address/telephone number you provided. You will receive the selling price of the book minus a 30% commission fee. Should we not hear back from you within 3 weeks, the money will be automatically credited as a donation to the bookstore. The same applies if we are not able to reach you under the provided email address/telephone number.
You can pick up the money at the bookstore during our opening hours Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00am to 1:00pm.
Should you leave the DSW, please contact the bookstore to check if we still have used books of yours in our inventory. Should you leave the U.S., please be aware that we cannot wire or mail money to other countries! You are welcome to provide us with the contact information for someone who is authorized by you to receive the money in your place or you can donate the books to the bookstore.
