posted March 2018: Interested in HOSTING A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT from Germany for 2 weeks? Youth For Understanding has a special group of students coming from Germany for a short-term program focused on community service from March 31-April 13. The students are all on scholarship and this program provides exchange experiences for students who might otherwise not be able to afford one. We are looking for host families in the DC area, might you or someone you know be interested? For this program, we provide English classes and community service activities for the students during the weekdays and then the student would be with your family in the evenings and on weekends. You just provide a bed, three meals a day, access to public transportation (we’ll give them a pre-loaded SmarTrip card), and a place in your family! Families shouldn’t feel the need to entertain the student as they come curious about “normal life” here in the USA! Contact Jenny Beth Aloys at or 202-774-5283 to see student profiles, or to ask about our summer program if the spring dates don’t work for you!, Flyer
