Welcome to our GISW Elementary School Library

Our bright school library is intended to be a place for our students to creatively interact with literature, a learning center for leisure reading and individual reading practice, as well as a retreat from the daily school routine.

The library plays a central role in the student‘s independent learning and promotes a lively reading culture. As an interdisciplinary place, it supports the development of holistic learning and is an indispensable part of the educational work at the GISW.

The library is home to our extensive collection of books and other media. All Elementary School classes, including the School Entry Level, use the library once a week as part of the German and English schedule.

Our collection contains a variety of German and English books, including children's and young adult books, picture books, anthologies, non-fiction, reference books, DVDs and audio books. Throughout the majority of German books, the focus is on promoting German language development.

With our new hours, we offer all elementary school families the opportunity to visit the library during family hours.

Family Hours at the Library: Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00- 8:55am

Book Donations: We will be accepting donations of books in best condition in German and English.

For any lost or damaged materials, the original price will be charged.
